Tom Sykes became the World Superbike leader after winning both races at Aragon. Loris Baz, his teammate, finished second in both races.
Kawasaki had a perfect weekend at MotorLand Aragon Spain. The second race was much more interesting than the first one, with a spectacular fight between Loris Baz, Tom Sykes and Marco Melandri. There were only to laps to the finish when Baz (2nd place) attacked Tom Sykes. He didn’t manage to overtake Sykes, but leaved an open door to Melandri, which took his place. In the last lap, it was Melandri who made the same mistake. He tried to get the lead, but lost the position and finished third.
The first race was under Tom Sykes command, which finished with no problems ahead of his rivals. Baz occupied the 2nd place, but there was an interesting battle for the third position. In the first half of the race it was Davide Giugliano (Ducati) which had the position, but lost it to Johnny Rea. In a desperate try to regain his place, Giugliano had hit Rea and fell down.
