Here’s the Motorbike Only list of most wanted concept motorcycles presented this autumn. Some of them we expected long time to show off, but other really surprised us. The most important thing is that, as we know, all of them will be soon available in production versions.
Yamaha GEN01 was unveiled at Intermot – Cologne. Yamaha calls it a … „crossover“. We’re not sure what they mean by this word. Maybe, it will be a motorcycle suited both for city commuting and for a weekend escape. Or, maybe, it will be one of those three-wheeled motorcycles that can be ridden with a car driving license. We’re not sure when will see something similar in a series production, but we’re almost sure that this will happen.
Moto Guzzi MGX-21
Moto Guzzi MGX-21 was revealed at EICMA – Milan. It is based on California 1400 cruiser, but it has a front carbon-disc wheel and a …streamlined tail which makes you think of salt lake races. The red-painted zones look spectacular on the matt black bike and the fairing also includes an audio system. So, it will be a kind of Harley-Davidson Street Glide, we suppose.
Just when you look at her you have a feeling that it should have a more… sexy name. And that’s because it is the street version of the MotoGP RCV-1000 prototype. It’s been some years since everybody is talking about this bike, but this time we really saw her at EICMA. We don’t have any technical specifications, but it should be light and very fast. The fairings are made from carbon fiber and the design comes straight from MotoGP. It should be a great bike. And, probably, a very expensive one.
Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen & Svartpilen
Husqvarna made a proper parade at EICMA with two awesome concept bikes: a scrambler and a futuristic café racer. They both look very good and should be powered by a 373 single cylinder from KTM Duke 390. They will be very light and could be ridden with A2 license.
Honda True Adventure aka Africa Twin
Honda Africa Twin’s comeback is one of the most expected news of the past years. And this autumn, a new adventure concept bike was unveiled at EICMA. The name of the bike is True Adventure and it embodies the Africa Twin legacy. It has a twin-cylinder engine of about 1.000 cc, and the design lines are inspired by the Dakar Honda motorcycle. The True Adventure concept bike is… indeed, true adventure. It has a 21 inches front wheel and looks very tough. Let’s hope it will be light enough and will have competitive specifications. Honda already begun a teasing campaign, so we should see the new Africa Twin soon.
