The upcoming BMW 300cc roadster was spotted during some tests in Germany.
The photos reveal us a 300cc-like liquid cooled engine, an upside down fork and a compact chassis. It will be a small roadster, fighting with similar motorcycles like Kawasaki Z300. The 300cc BMW is developed alongside the Indian manufacturer TVS. We don’t know the launch date yet, but it’s likely to be shown this autumn and go on sale next year.
Based on the 300 cc engine, there will be another two motorcycle: a faired sportbike and a mini-adventure inspired by the GS series. In the small displacement sport bike class, the BMW will face great competition from the Japanese brands and from KTM, but the mini-adventure class is almost unexplored.
BMW will target the emerging markets, a kind of El Dorado for all the motorcycle manufacturers, but also Europe.
