Yamaha R1 to receive new exhaust in Japan

The new Yamaha R1 will receive a special exhausts system for the Japanese market. We are not talking about some sort of a limited edition but rather about the strict regulation in Japan regarding noise pollution.

After MV Agusta F3 and Ducati Panigale it’s now Yamaha’s turn to act in reducing noise pollution. And with this operation the Yamaha R1 now gains a much longer exhaust system. The new pipe is looking somehow awkward and ruins a bit the aggressive R1’s lines. But Yamaha could be happy as Ducati’s version of the ultimate silencer is simply hideous.

As in the rest of the world regulations are not so drastic, the Yamaha R1 will be selling with the normal standard exhaust.
