Marc Marquez had a phenomenal run in Austin and managed to win without to many problems the Grand Prix of Americas. Marquez was followed by Dovizioso and and Rossi who fought each other the entire race for the second place. Dovizioso managed to push harder in straight lines and finished second with Rossi following close on the 3rd place.
Eight time winner on American soil, Marquez was passed by Dovizioso in the beginning of the race due to Ducati’s phenomenal acceleration and speed in straight lines. After some small tackles, Marquez managed to pass Dovizioso and distanced him self from the pack, having around 5 seconds in advance by the end of the race.
The big show was made out of the spectacular dance between Dovizioso and Rossi. Several times Rossi managed to pass Dovizioso and was faster in corners but the Ducati managed in the end to surpass Rossis’s Yamaha.
Jorge Lorenzo managed to finish 4th and had to defend his position against Andreea Iannone who came 5th.
Bradley Smith struggled to keep up with the front platoon but managed only to finish on the 6th.
Espargaro managed to finish on the 8th place in Austin with almost 19 seconds behind Marquez.
The Grand Prix of the Americas was without a doubt a tough race as Valentino Rossi stated himself. Although not being able to win, Rossi stated that he is happy with the result as this is the second podium for him in 2015.
Dovizioso needs to work in the breaking area more as corners seem to be his weak spot. He has the speed but he was really close on letting Rossi to take the second place from him.
A great absence from Austin was Dani Pedrosa who was replaced by Hiroshi Aoyama. Pedrosa is recovering from an forearm surgery that took place last week.
