Photos of the Royal Enfield Himalayan have flooded the internet lately. History taught us that this could be the sign that the Indian manufacturer is to reveal any time soon their first adventure bike. As expected, photos presenting the test bikes show dirty machines subjected to heavy tests so not many finishing touches are available at the moment.
Indian websites like Motoroids and AutoX published some of the best pictures so far. Although presented as an adventure bike, we can see that Royal Enfield keeps some classic touches that remind of the Bullet. In fact the Himalayan resembles more with a rugged Scrambler than a full size adventure bike. Look at it from other angles and Himalayan reveals some Italian lines as well. This might be the hand of ex-Ducati’s designer Pierre Terblanche.
And rugged is really the word that seems to describe best the Himalayan. Also giving the fact that the bike will be probably powered, according to rumors, by a 410 cc single cylinder engine there is little room to enhance size. If the price is right the Royal Enfield Himalayan could be a perfect tool for solo adventure rides.
