Honda will launch two Grom Scrambler versions at Tokyo Motor Show later this month.
Honda Grom 50 Scrambler Concepts will be based on the 50cc Honda Monkey platform rather than the 125cc Grom. The Honda Monkey is a pocket bike very popular in Japan. The two Honda Grom 50 Scrambler Concepts have been fitted with the 50cc air-cooled single cylinder engine found on the Monkey model. Honda did not release any technical details so far.
The Honda Grom 50 Scrambler Concepts come in two versions: Honda Grom 50 Scrambler Concept-One which is a retro style racer and Honda Grom 50 Scrambler Concept-Two which has a more modern style. The retro scrambler has the handlebars mounted lower while the mirrors have been placed at the bar ends. The headlight has a LED ring and the digital colour display is fitted to the left side of the handlebars.
The Honda Grom 50 Scrambler Concept-Two looks taller than its retro sibling. The bike has a LED headlight and LED front turn signals. The headlight has a LED ring similar to the Ducati Scrambler. For this bike, the Japanese engineers have mounted the digital colour display in the center, above the handlebars.
At this point Honda did not mention any plans to build a production version of the two concepts. But most likely we’ll receive more information at the Tokyo Motor Show.
