In spring next year, Yamaha R6 generation will change. Sources close to the Japanese manufacturer shared preparation pan for sporty middle class. YZF-R6 will take many design elements on the current YZF-R1.
R6 future is eagerly awaited by fans of supersport motorcycle. This is because models like the Suzuki GSX-R 600 or Kawasaki ZX-6R have not received any significant updates in recent years, while Honda CBR600RR will come out of production. The Japanese press has released images of the future R6. The first thing that comes out is the front hull radically changed, with two deflector located between the windshield and headlights. LED lights, which resemble two eyes, keeps the style adopted by R1. And especially tail cover passenger seater that interesting replaces the saddle looks, but certainly this will not be the final version of Yamaha YZF-R6.
The whole ensemble of Yamaha YZF-R6 looks very compact, suggesting a motorcycle easy to be controlled. Last year when at the launch of YZF-R1 and YZF-R3 on the circuit at Serres, first seemed too much, second too small, so the middle class was somehow required.
The current R6 has 123 horsepower at 14,500 RPM. The future model will have around 130 horses, and about the same speed. A question mark hangs over the displacement. It will be held the 600cmc or it will be a slightly larger engine but having in mind the stringent Euro4 standards?
Regarding the electronics, it is not known how many of the sophisticated systems of Yamaha YZF-R1 will be on Yamaha YZF-R6. Anyway, ABS, traction control and steering modes will be present for sure.
