Valentino Rossi wins the first race from the 2015 Moto GP season after a close battle with Andrea Dovizioso on the last three laps.
Dovizioso dominated the race on his Ducati but in the end was no match for Rossi’s experience. With a top speed of 356km/h, Dovizioso’s Ducati was faster but Rossi was better in the breaking area. Also Rossi was the only pilot that used hard front tires.
After his victory Rossi stated: “I said this a lot of times, but this is one of my best results ever. We did a fantastic job during the practice, and had a great set -up. The bike was moving everywhere, and it was a hard job to close down the leaders, but I’m so happy for my team!”
Qatar was a big disappointment for Marquez as he missed the first corner in the first lap and found himself on the last position. Although he managed to advance during the race, he only finished on the 5th place.
Iannone managed to finish on 3rd place while Lorenzo was up with the leading platoon and managed to finish on 4th .
The average lap time was about 1.55 seconds per lap.
As the first race of the 2015 Moto GP is now over, we can’t help asking ourselves if Ducati will be this season’s star of the show.
