The fact that BMW is a top seller in the motorcycle world is no secret for anyone. In the past years models like the R1200GS or R1200 Rt became icons for the perfect success recipe. However first figures from 2015 set an all time record for the German Company.
BMW managed to sell until the end of March no less then 31,370 units with an increase of 9.2% in comparison with the same period of the past year. 15,912 motorcycles were sold in March 2015 only.
Head of Sales and Marketing of BMW Motorrad, Heiner Faust stated: “BMW Motorrad has started the new 2015 motorcycle season with the best first quarterly sales of all time. For the first time ever in the history of BMW Motorrad we have supplied more than 31,000 vehicles to our customers in the first three months which corresponds to a significant plus of 9.2%.
Top sales are based heavily on the R1200GS, the R1200 GSA but also on the now legendary R1200 RT tourer. Also BMW signaled increase sales in the Asian market as well witch is an area well known for the popularity of small capacity motorbikes.
