First official set featuring the new KTM 1290 GT been released. Unfortunately, the new Super Duke GT appears in the same digital camouflage outfit used for testing. The frame and sub-frame though are painted in orange and black in comparison with previous test bikes.
The KTM 1290 Super Duke GT shares the same 180bhp engine as the normal Super Duke. It also features a more upright riding position, a taller screen and a redesigned more robust sub-frame in order to cope with luggage weight. Also, the engine mapping is going to be different in comparison with the normal Super Duke due to Euro 4 restrictions and fuel economy improvement.
Tech wise, the Super Duke GT will feature a Motorcycle Stability Control provided by Bosh, semi active suspension, and a cornering ABS system. A Hill Hold Control (HHC) is also going to be present on the bike. This option basically assists the rider when starting and riding uphill. The Super Duke GT will complete against the BMW S1000XR and so far things seem really interesting.
The new KTM 1290 Super Duke GT will be officially launched at the EICMA Motor Show.
