This are the technical changes and not only in the upcoming season of MotoGP: Michelin tires and the single control unit Magneti Marelli, an element that could reduce the gap between the teams, said Jorge Lorenzo, who analyzed the situation after the first test. “At this point it is clear that the electronic management will be less sophisticated than that which we used. I expect lap times by half a second slower than earlier in the season” said the Yamaha world champion, aware that the situation will be the same for everyone. “Honestly, the first day I tried the bike with the new electronics, in Valencia, I was afraid” added Lorenzo, as stated in the online version of the Spanish newspaper “The rear wheel tended to go in because the engine block and sometimes traction was wrong.”
Lorenzo also added, “The electronic engineer has immediately tried to calm me down and explained that it was only the first day and that the system had to be improved – said Lorenzo – and that since the days of the engine would go much better”.
